Mumbai Strikers SC fell to a consecutive defeat in their eighth match against U Mumba at the newly inaugurated Neville D’souza Football Ground at Bandra, Mumbai. Both teams walked on to the field with a defeat in their previous matches and looked to win this one. After a valiant performance, MS conceded a controversial goal in the match as the U Mumba striker had clearly fouled the MS defender before getting on it but the referee thought otherwise.

The match was pretty eventful from kick off and one of the most physically aggressive games of the season. The referee played a vital role in this one as clattering tackles were all over the place. However, it did not fall short of thrilling moments by both teams. U Mumba scored in the 35th minute and walked leaders in half time.

The intensity grew in the latter half as MS came close to scoring with Charvin’s thunderous shot that was deflected away from the target by the U Mumba keeper. However, U Mumba kept MS at bay and defended their slender lead. MS were left high and dry with a lot of work to do for the rest of the season.

MS will face FSI Sea View on 19th March and will look to be on the higher side of the scoreboard.
