Two first half goals from Gaurav Adhikari and Amit Koli earned Mumbai Strikers a 2-1 win over already-relegated Salsette FC on Tuesday as a turbulent season came to an end.

In form winger Gaurav Adhikari put Mumbai Strikers ahead in the 17th minute when he ran in unmarked to meet a low spot kick from winger Akshay Devadiga. MS doubled their lead in the 41st minute, Akshay Devadiga's free kick from the right wing was headed across goal by Centre Back Ravish D'souza to find midfielder Amit Koli unmarked inside the D-box. Amit controlled and slotted it home to give MS a two goal cushion going into the break.

Salsette FC managed to get on the scoresheet early in the second half as a free kick was headed in by their centre back. MS managed to keep control of the ball and continued creating chances but were unable to find the third goal. Salsette tried to find the equaliser but MS' rock solid defence out-paced & out-numbered the Salsette attackers. At the final whistle, the game ended Mumbai Strikers 2-1 Salsette FC.

After enduring an unexpected and topsy turvy 2021/22 season, MS finished it on a good note winning two back to back matches sealing their Elite division status for next season.
