A comprehensive performance sees Mumbai Strikers beat Soccer XI FC 4-1.

Mumbai Strikers took the lead early on as Anant Kumar' left footer went in the net through a barrage of players after being set by Nirbhay Pataptia' precise cross from the left flank.

Soccer Xl responded immediately with a neat header from inside the box via a free kick to level the score. The Strikers piled on the pressure looking for their second but were wasteful inside the six yard box.

The first half ended 1-1 much to Soccer Xl's relief.

The second half saw the Strikers take a two goal advantage within 5 minutes of the restart. An early attack from the right flank saw Ravish D'souza and Kishan Dubey combine to setup Armaan Shaikh right on the top of the box, whose low right piledriver left the goalkeeper helpless. Immediately after the restart, Ravish D'souza found Kishan Dubey inside the box who manouvered past the defender forcing him to commit a foul, winning a penalty. Kishan Dubey stepped up and coolly slotted the penalty home giving Mumbai Strikers a 3-1 advantage.

Soccer Xl tried to soak the early setback and got into the game but were unable to create any substantial chances as the MS defence stood strong. Manager Rohit D'souza brought on substitute Striker Jordan Soans midway through the second half to rejuvenate the attack. Few minutes later Jordan scored the fourth goal as he was put through, beating  the defender with his speed and squeezing the ball through the onrushing keeper.

MS' defence were rock solid and thwarted all attempts by Soccer Xl to see out the match. At the final whistle the score stood 4-1 in favour of the Strikers.
