MS continued their campaign in the MFA Elite Division with a close 1-0 win against Bombay Gymkhana on a blistering summer afternoon.

Although there was only one goal to separate the two teams, MS dominated in the first half in similar style as they did against FSI Sea-View in the season opener. The team put Bombay Gymkhana under constant pressure as the midfield completely obliterated the Gymkhana defence with a fury of through balls played by our midfield trio of Amit Koli, Ravish D'souza and Akshay Devadiga. The Bombay Gymkhana defence was in search of the ball and their breath as they were under constant attack by our midfield and tried to slow down the game by trying to waste minutes in the first half. MS came close to scoring twice during the first half with clear chances. Bombay Gymkhana came very close after winning a freekick right outside the box that shied away from goal after smashing the cross bar.

The second half began in similar fashion as MS had complete control over Bombay Gymkhana. However, they were unable to find that golden touch to set them apart from their opponents. In the 58th minute, the goal finally came as Arsalan H had a touch of magic as he controlled the ball between three defenders and smashed it into the goal after an incredible inswinger of a cross from our flashy winger Dilip Manoharan .
Bombay Gymkhana finally rose from the dead as they fought tooth and nail in the last 10 mins and created problems for MS. They won consecutive corners after forcing MS into their own penalty area. Our defense proved their mettle as they put their bodies on the line to keep the ball away from the goal with some timely clearances from Manthan and Saurabh Solanki. The scoreline was 1-0 as MS will now prepare to take on KSA in their third match at Cooperage on 2nd April at 2:30 pm.
