Mumbai Strikers and Anstrengung United form new alliance

A new partnership has been announced between the Mumbai Strikers (MS) and Anstrengung United (AU). The agreement between the Clubs, which is for five seasons beginning in 2020, will see AU assume the status as the official feeder club to the Mumbai Strikers.

“We are delighted to form this new partnership with fellow division 1st club, Anstrengung United," said MS technical director Sandeep Singh. "Like the Strikers, AU boast of a decade long proud history, and both Clubs share a number of values centered around the development and transition of players to compete at the highest level." he added. The formation of this partnership will also see Mumbai Strikers academy trainees getting a chance to ply their trade in the Mumbai Football league’s first division representing Anstrengung United, also promising young players from Anstrengung United will have the opportunity to train, compete and learn with the Mumbai Strikers main team commencing from 2020.

Welcoming the partnership, Anstrengung United Co- Founder, Pervez Shaikh, said: "We are delighted to be entering into this new partnership with the Mumbai Strikers. The primary objective is to ensure the on-going development and preparedness of players, as well as the seamless transition of the youngsters moving between the grades. We like the Mumbai Strikers play, train and compete in multiple sport. We will be extending our support to Mumbai Strikers to help them build a Hockey team in North East Mumbai. Mumbai Strikers can be a feeder club to AU in hockey.” He added.

Founded in 2011 Anstrengung United (AU) is a registered Non-Profit Organisation co-founder by Parvez Shaikh which uses sport as tool to develop and engage teenagers and Youth. AU is based out of Matunga. AU has a 1st Division Hockey & Football team participating in the MDFA and MHA leagues. AU regularly organises Football and Hockey tournaments in the city.
