MS players made an impact yet again in the matches played over the month of January in the Karnataka League.

It was a fantastic start to the year as the clubs registered positive results in their matches. On the 4th of January, Ravish D scored two goals and helped to score one in Star of Canara’s impressive 4-1 win over Mangalore Blues. Arnold M and Sunil P also featured in the playing squad of the Canara team while Akshay D played for the Mangalore Blues. In another thrilling encounter, Uchil United played out a goalless draw with a defiant Karnataka SC. It was a good result against an experienced team as Uchil United had to stay in contention to qualify for the next round. However, in a must win match played on the 11th of January, Uchil United emerged victorious with a score of 2-0 against a young Kanara Brothers team. Leon M scored the first by heading the ball delivered by Ryan T via a free kick while the second goal was a penalty shot converted by Ryan T again. Mangalore Blues played Mogaveera FC on 24th January which ended in a draw. Akshay D featured in the first eleven, but has yet to score for the Blues.

As a result of all the matches played, it was good news for Star of Canara and Uchil United as they march forward into the next round while Mangalore Blues failed to qualify.
