Akshay Devadiga who spear-headed MSSCs strike force two years ago with 23 goals in a season in all competitions has made a remarkable comeback this season. He made an appearance in the last match against ESIC which was held on the 14th of November 2014. Inspite of the long break from football, Akshay managed to be on his feet for the entire match and also made his mark by scoring a goal. This goal was his first of the season.

He suffered from ligament injuries (both ACL and MCL) which required surgery and months of recovery. Akshay had a small stint in the season of 2012-13 where he played a couple of matches as he was declared fit medically. He scored in one of those matches but unfortunately, his injury aggravated and hence he underwent the knife to get it treated permanently and has now emerged fitter to play the season. He has also signed up as a striker for Mangalore Blues in the Karnataka League.
