The Mumbai Strikers Colts snatched a win in their first ever 11-a-side game against a young FCBEscola Mumbai side. The match was held under lights at the Dominic Savio Grounds, Andheri where the FCB boys train. The players were energetic as they played out a 70 minute game under warm conditions.
MSPA piled up the pressure right from the start. In the first half, Divesh M stepped up to take a free kick which swirled right towards Arthava Sawan who netted in the first goal of the game. MSPA walked with a lead of 1-0 into half-time.
With major changes made in the squad, the second half seemed to be more promising. While the intensity of the game did not change much, MSPA scored their second goal through an opportunistic strike by Samyak Powar. He capitalised on the goalkeeper’s error who fumbled with the ball and left an open net.
The debut game for the MSPA colts ended 2-0 in their favor. MSSC congratulates the lads on this win and wish them success in many competitions to come.
