It’s another feather on the cap for the Mumbai Strikers Performance Academy. After the U-13 boys of the MSPA grabbed the title at the Adidas Uprising tournament, it’s the girls from St Mary’s Convent School, Mulund who have qualified for the playoff stage of the Mumbai School Sports Association (MSSA) Football tournament.

The campaign began with a walkover from Ryan International, Malad which got in 3 valuable goals and points. It was a test for the girls against Narayana E-techno from Borivali as Mary’s was reduced to 9-men. However, after a hard fought encounter, the girls earned a vital 0-0 draw. The girls now had to go past St. John the Evangelist, Andheri to hop into the playoff stage. It was a show of true grit as St Mary’s recorded a 2-1 victory after being a goal down. Kyra Vincent and Serene Joseph made it to the score sheet as St Mary’s walk proudly to the playoffs

We wish nothing but good luck to the girls for the remainder of the campaign.
