Mumbai Strikers SC participated in the Premier Champions Cup which was held at the plush Palava turf ground at Dombivli. The tournament was held on each weekend in the month of September which was running simultaneously with the Mulund Football League. The tournament involved the full format of the game i.e 11-a-side which was very rare. Teams from all over Mumbai and Thane from different divisions in the Football Associations took part in this tournament.

Mumbai Strikers SC were listed with El Shaddai, Ambernath United and Central Bank who were an Elite Division team from the Mumbai District Football Association. El Shaddai were the first opponents for MSSC in the league fixtures. They edged past a stubborn El Shaddai by a close score of 3-2. The second match was against the favourites from the Elite division, Central Bank. MSSC stunned each one in the stadium by beating them 2-1 to secure a second consecutive win and hopes to qualify for the next round were well alive. The third and final league bout was against Ambernath United. Ambernath United shattered the dreams and chances of MSSC qualifying for the next round as they thrashed the latter 4-0. MSSC did not move ahead to qualify for the quarter finals owing to goal difference.

MSSC look forward to their Super Division season in the next month and are preparing for it rigourously. We will keep you posted about the events and happenings in the team.
