Mumbai Strikers SC breezed past a physically dominant G.M Police team by a score line of 3-1 on match day three of their Mumbai Football League Super Division Campaign that was held on 1st December 2015. With this win, MS registered their third consecutive win in the super division and held the top spot in the group.

MS showed dominance right from the start as they penetrated the Police defence from their very first move. MS got the breakthrough in the 10th minute as Akshay D provided the assist to Abhijit S, who had to merely tap the ball in the net past the hapless goalkeeper. A few minutes later, GM Police almost pulled off an equalizer but the danger was kept at bay by the MS custodian Ryan Fernandes with a neat low save. MS kept raiding the Police defence repeatedly and succeeded in doubling their lead in the 24th minute as Ryan K rose on top of the Police defender and headed the ball in the net from an exquisite Nitin K free kick. Going into the break MS were two goals to none.

MS started the second half with a bang as Ravish D slotted home a precise header over the onrushing Police keeper. MS Right Back Pranav M provided the deadly cross that left the police defenders eating dust. MS continued attacking the Police defence but failed to increase their tally. Towards the end, a collision between the MS custodian and the Police Striker saw the match come to a halt as the referee pointed to the spot and handed them a controversial penalty. G.M Police managed to get on the score sheet as the striker made the penalty count. The score read 3-1 at the final whistle with Mumbai Strikers retaining their top spot with 9 points in three matches.

MS will lock horns with SBI who have won both their games on the 20th of December. The preparations are underway and MS will look to maintain their good run and the top spot.
