Mumbai Strikers SC won their second league game of the Super Division season after defeating a youthful Fr Agnels at the St Xaviers Football Ground, Parel on the 10th of November. MSSC made sure they enter the festive season on a positive note by recording a 3-1 victory at the end of regulation time.

It was a tough encounter as Fr Agnels were quick right from the start and their attacking nature was quite a threat. They won several free kicks in the first half which was not a very good sign for MSSC. However, the tables turned when MSSC piled up the pressure upfront as Akshay S created the first goal for Ravish D who netted in the ball confidently as ever to make the score 1-0. After creating the first dent, it did not take long for the second one as Nitin K centered the ball into a dangerous area where Amit S was waiting to crack a solid grounder into the net. Amit S scored his first goal of the season and it was quite ecstatic to see a new name on the scorecards. The first half ended in favor of MSSC with a 2-0 scoreline.

Into the second half, there was constant pressure from MSSC and they managed to win several corner kicks. After several minutes into the second half, Ravish D found Nitin K in the open who managed to score the third goal for MSSC and it was Nitin’s first one for the club. Nitin K seemed composed while taking the chance as he placed the ball well into the net with the keeper having no chance. Into the dying minutes of the game, the defensive wall of MSSC crumbled to some clever game making by the Agnels forward line which ended up in the goal and that came somewhat as a consolation as the full time score read 3-1.

MSSC stand at the top of the table with 6 points in their tally. After the festive break, MSSC will begin their preparations as they have 5 games to go in the league stage.
