In the playoff stages Mumbai Strikers (MS) was pooled in a Group D with Mumbai Port Trust (MPT) and West Zone United (WZU). Four pools were made with 3 teams each and the top team from each group would qualify for Super Division.

MS played MPT in the first playoff game. Two first half strikes by Lanster, Ravish and one second half goal by Akshay Devadiga confirmed a 3-0 victory for MS. The score line would have been even healthier in favor of MS, had they converted the numerous chances they created in the game.

Nevertheless, MS must be praying to the luck gods that at the end of the playoff stages, the goal difference don’t play a part in hampering their chances of promotion.
