In the much awaited season opener, MSSC beat Khalsa Gymkhana by four goals to nil. Striker Ravish D’souza was the star performer as he netted all the goals in the match. MSSC started the match well with a chance created in the first minute itself where Ravish headed the ball towards the goal, but the Gymkhana defender managed a sliding clearance from the line. Abhijit Shetty was named the captain for the game. As the game progressed, MSSC had chances in plenty to increase their goal tally. Khalsa Gymkhana were a very young upcoming side and showed glimpses of creativity in midfield at times.

Though MSSC won with a huge margin, Coach Firmin was less than convinced with the performance. Firmin’s disappointment was justified as MSSC missed close to a dozen clear goal scoring opportunities. Only time will tell how costly will these missed chances prove. It is high time MSSC put on their scoring boots.
