Mumbai Strikers SC ended their PFL season on an unpleasant note as they were handed a 3-1 defeat by Ambernath United. MS have ended the season with 5 wins and 4 losses which was not enough to qualify for the knock out phase.

MS Head Coach Firmin D tried out a new player in this encounter while the rest of the squad remained the same. MS went on the backfoot as they conceded an early goal right at the 3rd minute. MS tried to get back into the game and had a shot on goal which remained unconverted. The half was pretty disappointing and Ambernath led 1-0.

The second half began in full swing as both teams exchanged blows but the chances did not count. However, Ambernath United changed the gear to get their second of the game. Some sloppy defending costed MS dearly and the scoreline read 2-0 for Ambernath United. A few minutes away, an unfortunate deflection by the MS center back saw the ball end up in the back of the net as he tried to stop an incoming center in the six yard box giving the opponents an unassailable lead of 3-0. In the last moments of the game, Midfielder Melron M eased through the defense and slammed one past the Ambernath keeper. This was not enough for MS to win the game and also qualify for the next round.

A sober PFL season for Mumbai Strikers came to an end after the match. The team will now look forward to the Super Division season which will commence towards the end of the year.
