It was not the end that was expected after a brilliant unbeaten run, but Union SC finished the Late Shri Ramanath Payyade League, aso known as the Karnataka League Season in the third place. After a fabulous streak of unbeaten matches in the group stage, Union SC qualified for the semi-final against a tough and renewed Mogaveera SC. Union SC probably was the first team to give Mogaveera a run for their money as they drew 0-0 at regulation time. However, the extra time wasn’t fruitful as Union SC slumped to their first and only defeat of the season. Mogaveera SC took the honours with a score of 2-0.
Union SC still had a chance to make it big with a third place match against Mangalore Blues. Both sides managed to score once in regulation time as the score stood 1-1. It took a tie-breaker to bring out a winner and Union SC cleared the test by winning it 5-3.
The Union SC squad was managed by Mumbai Strikers SC head coach Firmin D’souza and comprised of players majorly from the Super Division team. Ravish D, Akshay D, Abhijit S, Rayan T, Calvin S. Rohit D, Sunil P, Arnold M and Leon M featured in the Karnataka League outfit.
