Mumbai Strikers (MS) 7–0 Football School of India (FSI)
30 October 2026 | 3:00 PM Kick-off | Matchday Two
Mumbai Strikers bounced back emphatically from their opening-day disappointment, producing a ruthless attacking performance to defeat Football School of India (FSI) 7–0 in hot conditions on Matchday Two. Winger Divyank Pawar stole the show with five goals, while striker Ravish D'souza contributed five assists and a goal of his own in a remarkable attacking display.
Divyank and Ravish Set the Tone
The Strikers started on the front foot, displaying attacking intent from the opening whistle. Their early pressure paid off in the 15th minute when Ravish D'souza threaded a perfectly timed through ball into the penalty area for Divyank Pawar. The winger made no mistake, placing his finish inside the near post to give Mumbai the lead.
FSI attempted to fight their way back into the contest, but the Strikers doubled their advantage through a well-executed set piece. A dangerous corner sailed beyond the defenders and found Ravish at the far post. Showing excellent awareness, he immediately lobbed the ball back into the six-yard box, where right-back Umair Khan rose highest to power home a bullet header. It was a special moment for Umair, who opened his Mumbai Strikers scoring account with his debut goal for the club.
MS continued to apply relentless pressure, leaving FSI little room to settle. The visitors, however, came close to reducing the deficit when their captain unleashed a superb long-range effort that skimmed the upright.
FSI enjoyed a spell of possession and managed to pin the Strikers inside their own half, but Mumbai maintained their defensive shape and waited for the right moment to strike again.
That moment arrived through the ever-influential Ravish. His low centre found Divyank at the far post, with the ball travelling through the defenders' legs. Divyank's immaculate first touch wrong-footed his marker before he calmly slid his next touch underneath the advancing goalkeeper.
The goal gave Divyank his second of the afternoon and marked another assist for Ravish, sending the Strikers into half-time with a commanding 3–0 lead.
Five-Star Divyank Leads the Second-Half Rout
Mumbai emerged for the second half with the same attacking purpose, and it did not take long for the fourth goal to arrive.
Central midfielder Shrinath Gite produced a measured through pass that split the centre-backs and released Divyank on the run. The winger finished first time at the near post to complete his hat-trick and put the Strikers firmly in control.
Divyank was not finished yet. His fourth goal came after the FSI goalkeeper parried a determined attempt from Ravish, with Divyank reacting quickest to the rebound to find the net.
The sixth goal was another example of the Strikers attacking persistence. Armaan Shaikh showed excellent unselfishness by centering the ball for Ravish, whose attempt was saved by the FSI goalkeeper. Divyank was once again alert to the rebound, finishing to claim his fifth goal of the match and extend the lead to 6–0.
The Strikers completed the scoring from the penalty spot. Substitute Harmish Vaity drove into the box on a dribbling run, and his attempt struck the hand of an FSI defender. Ravish stepped up and confidently slotted home the penalty to make it seven.
With five assists and a goal, Ravish finished the match with a remarkable six direct goal contributions, while Divyank's five-goal haul headlined an outstanding team performance.
A Response That Sets the Standard
After the disappointment of their narrow opening-day defeat to Skorost United, Mumbai Strikers responded in emphatic fashion. The team combined disciplined defending with incisive attacking play, while the understanding between Ravish and Divyank proved particularly devastating for the opposition.
Divyank's five-goal haul was the standout achievement, supported by Ravish's five assists and penalty conversion, Umair Khan's memorable debut goal and Shrinath Gite's excellent contribution in midfield.
The clean sheet was equally encouraging, with the Strikers maintaining their defensive organisation even during FSI's spell of pressure.
It was an outstanding team performance and a welcome return to winning ways. Mumbai Strikers will look to carry this momentum into their upcoming fixtures as they continue their campaign.
