The boys from Mumbai Strikers Performance Academy grabbed another trophy in a span of 2 months as they won the finals at the 1st Oliver Football Cup held at the Colaba Back Gardens on Sunday the 31st of January. Their coach Nilesh Kudatarkar was nothing less than proud as the boys put up a fabulous show in the tournament.

The tournament was in its first edition and featured 8 teams from all over Mumbai including two local teams. The MSPA boys were pooled in with Oscar Foundation Mahim, Don Bosco and Magic Bus. They maintained an unbeaten run in the entire tournament and topped it with clean sheets with superior defending. In the Semi-Final, they faced Kunal Boys who were toppers of their pool and had thrashed teams with goals in double figures. However, MSPA were pretty stubborn and played out a draw in regulation time, only to win it in the penalty shootout. The grand finale was setup against Don Bosco who they drew with earlier. The pumped up MSPA lads ran riot as they scored 3 goals without conceding any by full time. Shrey and Rohan scored back to back goals in the first half while Pratham topped it with a super volley from a distance in the second half.

Divesh Mangtani was declared the Best Player of the Tournament after defending his heart out in the entire tournament. Congratulations to all the players and head coach Nilesh K and hope they find success in many such competitions.
